2007-2008 Silver Hawk Theatre Season

You might be asking yourself, "Hey, what shows will LSW be doing this year?" If so, then you've clicked on the right spot.

The following is a description of each of our 4 shows this year as well as production dates and times as well as when tickets go on sale.

Join us for our season opener!
Neil Simon's hilarious, door slamming, fast-paced farce,
RUMORS
America's premier comic playwright will delight audiences with this out and out funny offering. RUMORS opens at the upscale home of the deputy mayor of New York and his wife, where a posh dinner party is about to commence to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary. The party never begins because when the first couple arrives, they find that there are no servants, the food is uncooked, the hostess is missing and the host is in crisis so, they decide to cover-up for their well-connected friends. As the next three couples arrive, the rumors grow into a dizzying array of laughter. Only the arrival of the police could make it any worse, and when they do arrive, the couples improvise a farcical illusion of normalcy. Come and enjoy as Silver Hawk Theatre serves up heaping helpings of hilarity!

"It has nothing on its mind except making the audience laugh." - N.Y. Times.
"Neil Simon makes people laugh a lot!" - USA Today.
"Not only side splitting, but front and back splitting." - NBC TV.

Deck the halls!
Begin your family holiday celebration at,
A CHRISTMAS CAROL
What would the holidays be without a visit from Ebenezer Scrooge? This perennial family holiday entertainment, inspired by Charles Dickens' immortal tale, tackles the issues of social injustice and poverty. It follows a single day in the life of miserly, bitter Ebenezer Scrooge. A successful businessman, Scrooge holds everything except wealth in contempt. He is visited by his former partner and warned that he needs to change his ways and embrace warmth, love, compassion, and charity. Visits from three spirits follow, showing Scrooge's past, present and future. As he relives his loves and losses the audience begins to understand his disposition. By the end of the evening Scrooge has a new lease on life, all with a little help from Tiny Tim.

Our third show is also a show for the entire family,
BRIGADOON
"Once in the Highlands, the Highlands of Scotland, two weary hunters lost their way." It is this desolate situation which Tommy Albright and Jeff Douglas, two young New Yorkers, are contemplating when the curtain rises on a misty glen in Scotland. As the two exhausted men reflect on what they have forsaken in the States for their present predicament, a lift in the Highland veil reveals to them the awakening village of Brigadoon.

The strained and strange greetings of the villagers who have gathered in the market square to sell their wares and to discuss the final wedding preparations of Jeannie MacLaren and Charlie Dalrymple, are softened for Tommy by his encounter with Jeannie's lovely sister, Fiona, and enlivened for Jeff by his reluctant entanglement with the milk maid, Meg Brockie.

The blissful occasion is momentarily tinged with gloom when the fate of Brigadoon is threatened by Harry Beaton, Jeannie's rejected suitor. And Tommy, now burdened with the knowledge of Brigadoon's secret and enraptured by the gentle charms of the beautiful Fiona, is confronted with the choice of remaining forever at the side of the Scottish lass or returning with Jeff for America.

Lerner & Loewe's show tunes include "Almost Like Being in Love", "The Heather on the Hill", "There but for You Go I", "Come to Me, Bend to Me", "My Mother's Wedding Day", "I'll Go Home with Bonnie Jean" and "Waitin' for My Dearie". Our production will have it all; great acting, singing, and dancing, stunning sets, spectacular costumes, beautiful lights and sound, a majestic orchestra, and those special theatrical surprises you've come to expect from Silver Hawk Theatre! Like Tommy, the audience delights in the whimsical loveliness of the Highlands, and it is with similar reluctance that they exit Brigadoon.

Due to the sold out performances of our past musicals,
BRIGADOON will run for TWO BIG WEEKENDS!

The finale of our sixth season will be our third annual
FACULTY PRODUCTION
of the hilarious cross-dressing classic,
CHARLEY'S AUNT
Don't miss seeing some of your favorite LSW Faculty members on stage! Before there was John Travolta in HAIRSPRAY, Patrick Swayze, Wesley Snipes & John Leguizamo in TO WONG FU, Nathan Lane in THE BIRDCAGE, Dustin Hoffman in TOOTSIE, or even Jack Lemmon & Tony Curtis in SOME LIKE IT HOT, there was CHARLEY'S AUNT!

This world famous farce has moved millions to tears of laughter. Jack Chesney loves Kitty Verdun and Charles loves Miss Spettigue. They want to profess their love, but to meet with the young ladies, they must have a chaperone (it is 1892 after all). Good news! Charley's wealthy aunt from Brazil is coming to visit, so they invite the ladies to lunch. But alas, the millionaire aunt sends word that she will have to defer her visit for a few days. What is to be done? The dear young things must not be compromised no, never! But neither will the youths give up the opportunity of declaring their love. The problem is solved by forcing another Oxford undergraduate into a dress and a wig. As "Charley's Aunt", this old frump is introduced to the sweethearts, to Jack's father and to Stephen Spettigue, Miss Spettigue's guardian. Then the REAL aunt turns up and comic confusion and hilarity go into overdrive. CHARLEY'S AUNT is anything but a "drag"!
