Feb. 21
  • Makeup is now found in the Makeup--Computer App file found in the handout folder for this class in Docushare.  If you are checking makeup from home, go to www.lps.org.  In the keyword on the right, type in studocs to get to Docushare.
Wednesday
Feb. 20
  • Pick up the handout from the makeup folder for the Science Museum problem and Sunport Camping problem.  Follow the directions on your handout to complete.
Tuesday
Feb. 19
  • We practiced the things in the Help Menu worksheet.  Make sure you have the correct answers on your worksheet.
Monday
Feb. 18
  • Pick up the handouts from the makeup folder.
  • Complete the Safest Cars table problem.
  • Use the Help menu to get answers on the second handout.
  • We went over answers on the Help Menu worksheet and will finish on Tuesday.
  • Show me your notes on Styles and Indents & Tabs for points if they are not marked off in your folder or if you do not have a grade for them online.
  • We are getting close to the end of the word processing unit.  Arrange to come in if you have work that you need to finish.

Feb. 15
  • We practiced making a table.
  • Pick up the assignment from the makeup folder and follow the directions to make the Big 12 table.
Thursday
Feb. 14
  • Pick up the handout from the makeup folder.  Get notes on tables from the file Creating Tables found in the WP folder of our class folder.
  • We worked together making a table.
Wednesday
Feb. 13
  • Pick up the small blue answer sheet from the makeup folder.  Open the PowerPoint file from the WP folder of our class folder named Word Review on Styles and Tabs.  Answer the questions.  Turn in your blue sheet telling me if you answer the questions right or wrong.
  • Finish any assignments you have been given.  You need to come in and finish these if you do not have them done:
    • Table of Contents
    • Computer Crime Questions
    • Days Off
    • Basketball
Tuesday
Feb. 12
  • We viewed PowerPoint shows about yourself.  There's nothing you need to make up for this; you just don't get to learn about your classmates.
Monday
Feb. 11
  • Get notes on Styles.  Use the back of the Indents & Tabs notes sheet from last week.  You can get the notes from a file called Style Notes found in the WP folder of our class folder.
  • We practiced together using styles.
  • Pick up the handout with the Table of Contents and Computer Crime Questions problems and complete.

Feb. 8
  • Complete the Days Off and Basketball  problems from the handout given to you on Thursday.
  • See me if you have not turned in your PowerPoint show about yourself.
  • Check your grade online.  The assignments listed need to be turned in by the end of the day Monday to count on your midquarter report.
Thursday
Feb. 7
  • We worked together on tabs and indents. There is nothing you need to makeup for this, but you will need to know this information.
  • Pick up the handout from the makeup folder with the Days Off and Basketball  problems.  We will work on these Friday.
Wednesday
Feb. 6
  • Deadline for your PowerPoint show about yourself.  See me if you can't meet this deadline--deadline change to Friday because of snow day.

Feb. 5
  • Pick up the handout for notes from the makeup folder.
  • You can get the notes from the WP folder in our class handout folder.  The file is named "Indents and Tabs Notes".
  • We started practicing using tabs and will continue on Wednesday.
  • Arrange to come in if you need to finish the Computer Crimes assignment or your PowerPoint assignment.
  • Remember, your PowerPoint show is due by the end of the day on Wednesday.
Monday
Feb. 4
  • Work on the Computer Crimes assignment you started on Friday.
  • Put your file in the handin folder for your class when you finish formatting the article.
  • Also, answer the questions.  The questions do not have to be answered before the article is turned in.
  • Remember, your PowerPoint show is due by the end of the day on Wednesday.

Friday
Feb. 1
  • We went over the Word Skills handout given to you on Thursday.  We practiced and took notes over things students in the class did not know how to do.  You can find the notes on the WP folder of our class handout folder.  The file is named Word Skills.  Take notes on things you would not know how to do.
  • We started the assignment Computer Crimes found in the WP folder of our class handout folder.  We will finish it on Monday.
Thursday
Jan. 31
  • Pick up handout.  Look over the list and check off the things you know how to do.  We will use this sheet on Friday.
  • We worked with way to copy and move text in a word processing document. 
  • Assignment:  #2-Move-Copy is found in the WP folder of our class handout folder.  Ask questions if you need help.  The directions are in the file.
Wednesday
Jan. 30
  • Ask to see your test--grades on posted online.
  • Final class time to work on your PowerPoint show about yourself. 
  • Deadline for the PowerPoint assignment is Wednesday, Feb. 6.  Arrange to come in outside of class if you have work to finish.
  • Period 8 only:  make sure your PowerPoint show is also saved in your My Work folder in Docushare.  You will have a new seating chart on Thursday.
Tuesday
Jan. 29
  • Arrange to take your test.
  • Work on your PowerPoint show about yourself.
Monday
Jan. 28
  • Pick up handouts from makeup folder. You should have a handout telling you what is included on the test.  Make sure you know these things.  I also returned your screen parts quiz and the half sheet history assignment. 
  • We opened the file Unit 1 Review at Computer--Part 2 and completed it as a review for tomorrow's test.
  • Work on your PowerPoint show about yourself.  Ask if you need help getting your picture.  You will probably need to come in outside of class time to work to make up time missed today.
  • Test on Tuesday over everything we have covered so far this semester.

Friday
Jan. 25
  • In our class folder and the Unit 1 Files folder, answer the Unit 1 Test Review--Part 1.  It will help you prepare for our test.
  • Work on your PowerPoint show following the guidelines given to you on Thursday.
  • You were given credit for three sheets of notes:  4 Computer Functions, Computer Storage, and PowerPoint Questions.  Show them to me if yours do not have a score on them in your folder.
Thursday
Jan. 24
  • We will have a test over things we have covered so far this semester on Tuesday of next week.
  • Pick up the test review handout from the makeup folder.  It shows you things you should know for the test.
  • In our class folder and the Unit 1 Files folder, we reviewed using the 4 Functions Review and Computer Storage Review files.
  • Pick up the handout telling you what you will need to include on your graded PowerPoint show.
Wednesday
Jan. 23
  • Arrange to take quiz over screen parts.
  • Pick up handout from the makeup folder for the Computer Storage notes.  Get the notes from the Unit 1 Files folder from our class folder.
  • Also in the Unit 1 Files folder, open and answer the PowerPoint Questions file.  Add you name to this file after deleting the directions and print the file when you are done.
Tuesday
Jan. 22
  • We reviewed for the quiz over screen parts.  The quiz is on Wednesday.
  • We finished learning new things on PowerPoint.  We covered:
    • slide animations
    • slide transitions
  • Pick up the handout from the makeup folder with the computer survey.  Return it to me by Thursday.

Jan. 18
  • Pick up handout from the makeup folder.
  • Get notes from the file found in the Unit 1 folder of our class handout folder.
  • We also worked with PowerPoint.  We practiced
    • Adding clipart
    • Flipping clipart
    • Changing text color
    • Adding a pattern and texture background
    • Setting animation on a slide
    • Playing the slide show
  • Quiz over screen parts will be next week on Wednesday.
Thursday
Jan. 17
  • Pick up the two handouts from the makeup folder.  They should have your name on them.
  • Follow the directions given on the half-sheet history handout.  You will find a file in our class handout folder that you can use to fill in the blanks.  Turn in this sheet when you finish.
  • We went over screen parts you will need to know for a quiz scheduled for next week on Wednesday.  The second handout has the screen parts you need to know labeled.
  • We worked together in PowerPoint and will continue on Friday.
Wednesday
Jan. 16
  • We added our class handout folder and handin folder to our favorites in Docushare.  I have done this for you.
  • Complete the survey in the class handout folder, print and hand it in.
  • Ask for a folder that you can keep class materials in for this class and a note you can staple inside the folder with the makeup site address.
Tuesday

  • We went over class guidelines and what we will cover this semester in Computer Applications. 
  • Class guidelines can be found in our class handout folder.
