Concert Attire
Since we do not have auditioned groups with the 6-8 configuration for music classes, we do not ask that you purchase any special outfit for them. The Sing and Swing Choir does have a shirt which is the same every year which should further "recycling" as older singers move on and new singers join the group.
Because we want the audience to focus on what we are singing, I have one basic rule regarding shirts worn to concerts: Please do not wear a shirt with writing or a distracting design on the front. A polo shirt or regular button down collar shirt is preferred. Girls may wear a sweater or blouse but they must abide by the Pound dress code. Skirts are okay as long as they extend below the knees. Jeans (without holes) are okay for the academic connection classes, but I prefer that the eighth grade chorus have black or khaki pants.
It is very important to me that singers learn the value of a good stage presentation and I also think they act and sing better when they are a little dressed up. I would appreciate parents' cooperation in this matter and will be glad to discuss it further with anyone if necessary.
Thank you.
