Welcome to Career and Technical Education (CTE) in Lincoln Public Schools.
Students in LPS are required to take 15 hours of Applied Arts Credits (with at least 5 credits in Fine Arts and 5 credits in Applied Arts (CTE courses) to meet graduation requirements. In addition, students are required to take 10 hours of technology requirements that are met through many CTE courses. After taking a progression of CTE courses, many students are also able to count their CTE high school courses for college credit through arrangements with possecondary institutions.

FBLA News
Congratulations to the following FBLA Members who earned the opportunity to compete at the National FBLA Leadership Conference in Nashville, TN this summer:
- Leena Padhye, Lincoln Southwest. Ms. FBLA, 1st - Accounting, 1st - Administrative Office Management, plus other awards.
- Adam Pillard, Lincoln East. 1st - Economics, 1st - Introduction to Business, 2nd - Business Calculations, 2nd - Business Math, 2nd - Marketing, plus other awards.
- Tina Zheng, Lincoln East. 1st - Business Math, 2nd Introduction to Parliamentary Procedures, plus other awards.
Leena will be competing for the title of Future Business Leader and Adam will be competing in Introduction to Business for Nebraska FBLA at the National FBLA Leadership Conference this summer in Nashville, Tennessee.

Congratulations to John Heithold for receiving the 2005 Milken Education Award, presented by the Milken Family Foundation. Up to 100 awards are presented each year and John was the only recipient from Nebraska.
