Wow! Imagine what a thrill it would be to be a part of an ensemble comprised of 82 outstanding fellow 8^th grade musicians.

The Nebraska State Bandmasters Association sponsors an Honor Band comprised of some of the best 8^th grade musicians in Nebraska. Last year over 400 applications were submitted from across the state for this 82 piece band. We have been fortunate enough to have at least one student from Pound make this prestigious group every year.

This Honor Band is a one day event held in Kearney on Saturday, January 12, 2008. There are rehearsals and sectionals during the day and a final concert at 4:00 PM. Honor Band students often go out to Kearney with their families the night before in order to be fresh for the 9:00 AM opening rehearsal on Saturday morning. I will be there as well.
