I'm Frau Wegner and I have fun teaching 4 levels of German. Before teaching at East, I was at Millard West High School, Fairbury and North Platte. While most of my teaching has been on the secondary level, I have also taught elementary German. I am a graduate of Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD (BA) and the University of Nebraska (MA) and have been involved in several study abroad programs in Germany.  In the summer of 2006 my husband and I had our own tour of Germany in a Volkswagen Golf.  That was a blast!  (These pictures were taken at or near the castle which is named the Dornroeschen Schloss or Sleeping Beauty Castle because this castle inspired the Grimm Brothers to write that fairy tale.)  World Cup fever was everywhere, and one could not miss the true German spirit of 'celebration'.  Besides traveling in Germany, I love to spend time with our family.  Our 4 sons are scattered in 3 states and we have 7 grandchildren so far.  I love to play mini-golf and recently had a dream that I became a high school girls golf coach -- oh my goodness!  I'll stick to sponsoring the German Club which meets every Monday after school; these students sell the best Gummi Bears and great Advent Calendars every December. They also help raise money for students wanting to travel to Germany with other LPS students in the spring of 2010.  That will be so much fun and a great opportunity to speak German right in the German culture.  Plan now to join East High's German Club!
