Spanish 4
Spanish 4 builds upon the skills learned in the previous three years; consequently, the class is conducted in Spanish and students are also expected to communicate in Spanish.
The textbook used in this class is Ven conmigo, Level 3. We study Chapters 7-12, but we also include additional materials to help students further their abilities in speaking, listening, reading, writing and cultural competence.
Each chapter of the book contains 2 sections called "Pasos." At the end of each chapter is a vocabulary page that contains the key vocabulary words and phrases which students must learn in order to be successful in the class. Students should study the vocabulary specific to each Paso every night, as well as review vocabulary from previous chapters and years of study.
We will cover a Paso about every two weeks, and we will have a quiz at the end of each Paso.The quizzes will include listening, reading, writing and culture sections. At the end of the chapter we will have a chapter test incorporating all the learnings from the two Pasos. Other types of assessments, such as oral performance assessments and projects, will also be utilized.
