Español 1
 This course will cover the language and culture of a first year Spanish class. We will be using the text "Ven Conmigo", with the goal of completing the first 10 chapters. A satisfactory grade will prepare the student for second year Spanish.
Students will also be receiving a workbook to accompany the text. It is theirs to keep and use, but if it is lost they must purchase a new one. The only supplies needed are a pen or pencil, a folder to hold only Spanish handouts, and paper.
Students will earn their grades by completing homework, quizzes, tests, and classroom work. Two quizzes will usually be given weekly. Students will have handouts on what will be on the quizzes and tests. Quizzes may be retaken after school if all homework is current. Quizzes must be retaken before each chapter test. No retakes on Chapter test. To be successful in Spanish a student needs to spend about 15 minutes, 5 nights per week studying vocabulary or completing assignments.
