This project won the Time-Warner Crystal Apple Award in 2005: A national award recognizing our project as one of the top twenty educational activities in the United States. Our PSA project also won the Time-Warner Spotlight Award which recognizes local achievement in the use of video and technology in the classroom.

What We Are Studying in Health Class: - Our current health unit is Human Growth and Development. This unit is one in which we consider how our choices and actions effect our health. Parents may wish to read the Parent Letter-8/08 sent home with your student May 8th or 9th.

Suggested supplies we will use in health class this year:
- Three Ring Binder (Standard 1")
- Loose leaf paper (standard 3 hole, lined).
- Blue or black ink pen.
- Weird colored pens (i.e. red) or jell pens may only be used when we correct papers in class.

Physical Education - 6th Grade

What We Are Studying in Physical Education:
Our 4th Quarter activity is One Wall Handball. For the next few weeks we will participate in activities designed to help students with balance, agility and hand-eye coordination.

Dress for Gym Class - Suggested dress for class:
For gym activities the suggested dress is: T-shirt with your first initial [dot] last name clearly printed across the chest: i.e. R. SMITH
- Shorts or sweat pants. We expect that NO UNDERWEAR WILL BE EXPOSED.
- Socks and sport Shoes (i.e. Crosstrainers, Basketball shoes etc.)
*Students should dress neatly and modestly which mean no ripped or cut off clothes. No cargo pockets or excessively baggy clothes which could become caught on equipment. Please do not wear clothes which expose armpits or abdominal areas.
These guidelines for appropriate dress are also included in your P.E. Folder.

Do Not Wear Jewelry In Gym Class ! - For your safety and the safety of others, please do not wear jewelry during gym Class. Your gym locker is the appropriate place to lock up your valuables.
