ELLIOTT ELEMENTARY began the 2004-2005 school year with a schoolwide musical celebration. The theme for the celebration and for this school year is "We Are Family."
CD's and DVD's of the music and music videos produced last year, showcase the work of the 2003 - 2004 Fifth grade class. Students wrote lyrics and recorded original music, as well as collected digital video for the final production pieces. Either format is available for purchase by calling Laura Keller at Elliott Elementary.

The billboard you see above is based on the ideas, direction and artworks of several of Elliott's fifth graders. This billboard was featured at 23rd and "O" for several weeks and was made possible by the Elliott ARTs in Education Media Literacy grant!
FIFTH GRADERS in the third quarter, continue their study and design of graffiti. Students are integrating their evolving name in graffiti style with the symbol they created with the Artist-in-Residence we had in the second quarter. The two pieces of artwork by each student will be combined with the work of about five other students, to create a graffiti wall. Each class will have a "wall" that is divided into three sections. Students are also creating dramatizations that describe their learning and their work. All of this will be showcased at the end of April in downtown Lincoln. Watch for more details of Lincoln's First Multicultural Festival!
District standards and Core Abilities for elementary students are posted on the door of the art classroom. Many of the displays of student art work also have the standards addressed, posted along with the art work. You may also find the core abilities, standards, and information about assessment at http://sites.lps.org/art/curriculum#core.
