French V - Independent study

1. Start reviewing Mcdougallittel.com chapters and print a self-test 2. Summarize each chapter of Colomba (in English)


French II - Period 5,6, & 7

To: My parents and their students

A. EACH DAY: 1)students will go into their assigned group: they will have a bell-work (some activity to settle them down) then they will read a chapter of their story "EN NORMANDIE"; if time allows they may start the questions for this chapter; 2) Each day, the sub will correct the bell-work and their questions from the night before; upon correction, these will be collected and put in individual folders. NO LATE WORK ACCEPTED EXCEPT IN CASE OF ILLNESS! 3)DEVOIRS: As already mentioned students will have homework every night (Monday through Thursday): a) go to site go.hrw.com and start reviewing chapter 1 of level II (can be Allez-Viens level II or Bien Dit level II); students are expected to review and take the self-test or cumulative test. Print it and bring it to class every day. b) questions on the reading to be done in FRENCH! FULL SENTENCES (loose paper since it will be collected every day by sub) 4) FINAL PROJECT: an exam on the reading: true/false; matching and writing

UPON MY RETURN: Students will get a completion grade for their homework and an assessment grade through their exam.


French III - period 4

To: MY STUDENTS AND THEIR PARENTS:

A. FIRST WEEK: Students will be watching a documentary on the Impressionist Movement. 21. DEVOIRS: Each night: review go.HRW.com site (starting with chapter 1 of level 3); write a journal in English of what you learned that day on the movement. 2. EACH MORNING: collection by sub and put in a folder for future completion grade

B. SECOND WEEK: Students will pair up (teams are already done) and start writing a story around their favorite painter's art. (Details on their handout) DEVOIRS FOR SECOND WEEK: continue with the review of chapter with Allez-Viens and Bien DIT; work on the story

C. UPON MY RETURN: Final project due (the story)

TO MY INDEPENDENT STUDY FRENCH III:

1. Read the "Fantôme" and summarize each chapter in English 2. Start reviewing with the site go.HRW.com (start at chapter 1 of level III; you may also explore Bien Dit level III) 3. On Thursdays: bring your work (summary and review to my mailbox)


French IV - Period 1

To: STUDENTS AND THEIR PARENTS

I will be gone the next two weeks (10 school days) and the following are expected of the students:

1. Reading groups: Each group is assigned a reading to do in class. Answer questions orally withing group. 2. DEVOIRS: a)Each night: review Mcdougallittel.com (one chapter at a time- students have a summary of vocab. and grammar points to review); b) summarize in English what they have read. 3. EACH MORNING: Sub will pick up your summary and your chapter review 4. PROJECT FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT: illustrate the whole story (see details in your handout)

5.UPON MY RETURN: Grade will be given for homework completion as well as an assessment grade for the project (independently of your final project)
