Grading scale: 100 - 90 % A 89 - 87 B+ 86 - 80 B PASSING GRADES! 79 - 77 C+ 76 - 70 C ______________ * 69 - 67 D+ * 66 - 60 D 59 ..... F * Students earning these grades may not be able to move on to the next level. The teacher may advise to redo the level (French II; III; IV). If they (student/parents) choose to go on, the student will have the first 3 weeks to decide if the new level is appropriate for them or go down to the lower level after that trial period. An "F" in the course means students must redo the level entirely.

This year, your grading will be based on 65% WORK (homework; practice; practice lab; communication exercises; anything which requires your effort in studying, learning and applying yourself). 35% ASSESSMENT (quizzes; lab exams; projects; chapter tests; anything that requires memorizing and applying what you learned without books or notes).

I believe this new system will benefit each and every one of you. It truly will be YOUR GRADE!!!

In my classes: "LEARNING IS REQUIRED! YOU MAY NOT CHOOSE TO FAIL."

RULES FOR THE CLASSROOM:

1. Each time you come in B-119 The French Room you are expected to do the following: a) pick-up your folder in the appropriate slot as well as any handout you may have on the table; b) sit down and do the bell work either listed on the overhead, whiteboard or on the handout; c) make sure you have all needed for your class (book; homework; etc.).

2. Eating and drinking in the classroom are "no-no" except for the following: a) Health conditions; b) first and seventh period: snack can include anything other than candies; colas; cookies! Healthy snacks examples: Cheese and apple; cheese and crackers; raisins; bananas... get the idea?

Why 1st and 7th period are allowed and not the other periods? Fair question. Most students who have a first period did not have breakfast... some of them are still in their pajamas... at least mentally! Seventh period students are feeling low on energy and need by then a little bit of energy back.

GUM CHEWING: Don't. Anytime I will see people chew like cows... gum is in the basket, no argument or comment!:) SO... can I have gum? yes, you may... I JUST DON'T WANT TO BE AWARE OF IT OR SEE IT!
