A Night With Dr. Tim
How do you make 2 1/2 hours seem like 2 1/2 minutes?
Attend a Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser Leadership Workshop!!
10 select Lincoln High band and orchestra members did just that at Milliard South High School Monday August 14.
Dr. Tim does not lecture. He involves the students in who and what they
are as well as who and what others are. Why certain students act or
behave the way they do and how to work with, around and in spite of
negative people.
The students learned to work outside of their ≥comfort zone≈ by not
being allowed to sit with someone from their own school, fold their
arms the opposite way, clasp their hands the opposite way, clap
backwards from normal. What it was like to follow themselves or follow
others.
They learned what good leaders are, leadership maturity, why people
stay within their comfort zone, what and why students act certain ways
to achieve attention and the many forms of leadership. Positive and
negative.
A Dr. Tim workshop is a mind and eye opening experience no matter what
age you are. No one can walk out of his sessions, whether you agree or
not, at least not thinking about what just happened. And maybe, just
maybe, is he right????
In May of 2002 Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser was awarded membership in the
Lincoln High Band along with a band shirt and band letter. Dr. Tim was
and always will be a vital part of the Lincoln High School Instrumental
Music program.
